- February 2002 - Decided to adopt, possibly from China; Met with our social worker several visits and decided to adopt domestically
- April 7, 2002 - Domestic Homestudy was completed.
- April 2003 - After waiting one year and many heartbreaks, we decided to adopt from China...again. See OUR STORY. We chose our agency, Chinese Children Adoption International
- April 1, 2003 - Alaina is born!!!
- April 1, 2003 - Fingerprints
- July 2003 - I171H arrived and all paperwork, our Dossier was sent to Chinese Children Adoption International
- August 20, 2003 - China logged our Dossier into the system
- April 1, 2004 - Alaina's First Birthday!!!
- April 8, 2004 - We received Alaina's Referral News!!!
- May 19, 2004 - Boarded first of many airplanes....headed for China!!! See our Travel Journal to Alaina.
- May 23, 2004 - Gotcha Day!!!! Forever in our arms!!! A gift from God!!!
- May 24, 2004 - Adoption Day!!! It's final!!! She's ours!!!
- June 3, 2004 - Landed in the United States of America!!! Alaina is a U.S. Citizen!!! She meets her forever family!!! See Our First Year.
